Next up in the Rolanoid Unpacked series is
Deeper Delights, a personal favourite from The Chillout
Collection. The original version was started in the mid 90's before I had heard the likes of chillout outfits such as Zero 7, Air, St Germain or Nightmares On Wax. The track was created in its entirety with only a Yamaha SY85 workstation keyboard which I regretted selling later on as it had such an amazing sound! Originally
released in 2002 as two versions titled Illuminated Delights and Deeper
Delights. A slightly modified version of Deeper Delights was
released in 2005 on the Electronique album and
also on the Remixes EP in 2006. Unable to leave well enough alone,
I again revisited the original version in 2012 and decided to add
additional drums, a few additional synths as well as remaster it.
Released on The Chillout Collection in 2012, the title Deeper
Delights seems even more appropriate to me now following a deep
spiritual experience around that period whilst attending a nine day
silent meditation retreat. |
